La Chaise was developed in response to a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1948. The shell shape draws inspiration from the 'Floating Figure' sculpture by Gaston Lachaise, and allows the user to sit or lie down comfortably. As an alternative daybed, La Chaise offers a structural, mid-century aesthetic well suited to statement living spaces.
