Botanical baubles

Reiko Kaneko

These hand-painted ceramic baubles by Reiko Kaneko are a festive addition to the Botanical collection, and sit amongst an assembly of vases, plates and bowls that have been made during an experimental phase of work. First developed when Reiko opened her London garden studio in 2019, the collection is inspired by, and decorated with, depictions of the flora and fauna that surround her.

Please note, the red bauble is made from red porcelain but is much paler in tone.

Each piece in the Botanical collection is unique, they are all hand-made and decorated by Reiko. If a piece you are looking for is no longer available, please get in touch with our showroom team.

Product Information

The first pieces in this new Botanical collection were either sketched on in glaze colours or painted with white glaze. More recently, Reiko has closely studied the pâte-sur-pâte technique (literal meaning paste on paste), first pioneered in Sevres, France, and then at Minton’s ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent in the late 19th Century by French émigré Marc-Louis-Emmanuel Solon. Some of the latest pieces in the Botanical collection have been made using this classic technique, which Reiko has further developed with the application of a new digital process.
